The 2-year-old girl with autism who was abducted in New York City has been found safe and a suspect is in custody after a nearly 24-hour search.
Seniya Benitez, 2, who is non-verbal and has autism, was kidnapped by her father, 21-year-old Christian Benitez, who is not permitted to have unsupervised contact, in the Bronx near Gleason Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, police say.

An Amber Alert has been issued following the abduction of an infant in New York City.
Seniya Benitez, 2, who is non-verbal and has autism, was kidnapped by her father, 21-year-old Christian Benitez, who is not permitted to have unsupervised contact, in the Bronx near Gleason Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, police say.
Benitez reportedly took the child from her from the grandmother, who is in the process of becoming her legal guardian, after the two got into a dispute, circumstances that lead police to believe that the infant is in imminent danger of serious physical injury and/or death.
Seniya Benitez, who was last seen wearing pajamas and a blue jacket with no shoes, has straight black hair and brown eyes.
Benitez, who was last seen wearing black jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and black sneakers, is about 5-foot-5 and 160 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen traveling on the 6 Train at Castle Hille Avenue.
